Our story begins with Tibor L. Killi, affectionately known as the King of Clean. A Hungarian refugee, Tibor made his mark selling Electrolux vacuum cleaners, closing eight sales in his first week. In 1964, he founded T L Killis LTD, Sheffield became home to the first store on Glossop Road, specialising in vacuum cleaner sales, repairs, and consumables - laying the foundation for a legacy of innovation and excellence that continues to this day.

Imre Killis was raised in the heart of the cleaning industry, spending his teenage years working part-time in his father’s workshop. There, he gained hands-on experience repairing machines and learning the practical demands of the trade. Surrounded by tools and technical challenges, Imre developed a deep understanding of the industry and a strong curiosity to improve it. These early years sparked the ambition that would later drive him to rethink what cleaning technology could achieve.

MotorScrubber launched in the UK in 2012 with a single product and a clear mission: to innovate where traditional cleaning tools fell short. The team identified a critical gap in the market -the need for compact, high-performance machines capable of reaching small, awkward spaces that bulky equipment couldn’t access. By analysing the limitations of existing tools, MotorScrubber focused on creating smarter, more agile solutions that delivered effective cleaning in areas previously considered difficult or impossible to reach.

Following the relaunch of its Generation 2 products in 2016, MotorScrubber focused on enhancing technical features to improve performance and results. As development progressed, the company expanded its global distributor network, bringing its solutions to businesses around the world. During this period, MotorScrubber products were showcased at major trade shows across the globe, gaining international attention and establishing the brand as a forward-thinking presence in the cleaning industry.

Introduced in 2018, ProWash marked a key step in MotorScrubber’s move into large-scale exterior cleaning. Designed for professional use, it combined high-pressure rinsing with targeted detergent application for fast, efficient results on vehicles, buildings, and other outdoor surfaces. ProWash expanded the brand’s reach beyond interiors, highlighting its commitment to practical, adaptable solutions across diverse cleaning environments. Prowash has been utilised by many of the UK’s largest railway networks for exterior train cleaning.

MotorScrubber FORCE was developed to complement larger scrubbing machines by tackling the smaller, hard-to-reach areas they can’t access.
To enhance its capability, we engineered a unique suction kit that integrates directly with the MotorScrubber cleaning head—allowing users to scrub and dry even the tightest spaces with ease and efficiency.

As the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, demand for effective cleaning solutions surged across the globe.
MotorScrubber quickly identified a critical shortage of disinfectant applicators and responded with urgency—developing STORM, a high-performance sanitising device powered by our MotorScrubber battery backpack. STORM delivered a precise, consistent layer of disinfectant, ideal for treating frequently touched surfaces and significantly reducing the risk of cross-contamination.

Over 20,000 units were sold worldwide, with STORM regularly featured on global news channels. It became a standout success and played a pivotal role in accelerating our international expansion.

Focus shifts to the development of its latest machines: SHOCK and DRYFT. The design team approached both projects by closely observing real-world cleaning environments and speaking directly with professionals to understand daily challenges. This hands-on research shaped every stage of development, from early sketches to final prototypes. Prioritising function, simplicity, and performance, the team worked through hundreds of prototypes to ensure each product met specific needs — with a focus on solving problems that existing machines couldn’t.

Interclean Amsterdam 2022, MotorScrubber made a memorable appearance with the secret unveiling of an early-stage prototype of DRYFT. Presented behind closed doors to select industry professionals, the preview offered an exclusive first look at the upcoming scrubber dryer. The event generated buzz across the show, highlighting MotorScrubber’s continued focus on practical design and solving everyday cleaning challenges. Sharing the prototype in a private, invitation-only setting allowed the team to build anticipation and gather valuable early feedback.

Launched to meet the demands of modern cleaning challenges, SHOCK introduced a new level of power and precision to the industry. Engineered with advanced oscillation technology, it delivered rapid, high-intensity scrubbing capable of breaking down stubborn, ground-in dirt with ease. Its compact form and aggressive agitation allowed it to excel where traditional machines struggled. Designed for efficiency in the toughest environments, SHOCK quickly became a go-to solution for professionals seeking reliable, deep-cleaning performance. All lessons learned by developing Shock’s groundbreaking scrubbing technology were carried across to the DRYFT product.

In May 2024, MotorScrubber reached a major milestone with the soft launch of its final-stage DRYFT prototype at Interclean Amsterdam. The public unveiling of the world’s first S-Motion Scrubber Dryer sparked enormous interest and received enthusiastic feedback from across the industry. This marked the beginning of a new chapter, as DRYFT moved from development to production following thousands of pre-orders. The year symbolised MotorScrubber’s continued growth, innovation, and dedication to solving everyday cleaning challenges with advanced technology - setting the stage for a new era in compact floor care.

In 2025, DRYFT entered a pivotal phase as MotorScrubber began ramping up full-scale production and delivery following overwhelming pre-order demand. This year also marked a major organisational shift with the demerger of Killis LTD and MotorScrubber LTD, allowing each company to focus independently on their respective strengths. For MotorScrubber, this means a sharper focus on innovation, global expansion, and the successful rollout of DRYFT. The separation has positioned the brand for greater agility and long-term growth.

2018 | PROWASH

ProWash was designed as a professional solution for large-scale exterior cleaning tasks. It combined high-pressure rinsing with targeted detergent application to tackle tough dirt on vehicles, buildings, and outdoor surfaces. Built for speed and efficiency, ProWash addressed the need for a powerful yet easy-to-use system, helping cleaning professionals achieve consistent results across demanding environments.

2019 | FORCE

FORCE was designed for heavy-duty floor cleaning in commercial and industrial environments. Built to deliver powerful scrubbing performance, it featured high agitation and downward pressure to remove stubborn dirt with ease. FORCE addressed the need for a robust, reliable machine capable of handling tough cleaning jobs, where standard equipment lacked the strength or efficiency to perform effectively.

2020 | STORM

STORM was designed as a lightweight, portable sprayer for fast and targeted sanitisation of high-touch surfaces. Developed during the COVID-19 pandemic, it enabled frontline workers to disinfect efficiently in a wide range of environments. STORM addressed the urgent need for a simple, effective solution to support hygiene protocols in public spaces, healthcare settings, and commercial facilities.

2020 | BLADE

BLADE was designed as a compact floor squeegee system to remove liquid and leave floors dry and safe. Created to complement MotorScrubber’s scrubbing machines, it enabled quick and effective water recovery in confined spaces. BLADE addressed the need for efficient drying in tight areas, improving safety and hygiene standards across environments where larger drying systems couldn’t operate.

2020 | M3

M3 was designed as a compact, portable scrubbing machine for cleaning tight, awkward, and hard-to-reach spaces. Lightweight and cordless, it offered flexibility and ease of use across a variety of environments. M3 addressed the need for a versatile tool that could deliver powerful scrubbing performance where larger machines couldn’t fit, making it ideal for detail-focused cleaning tasks.

2020 | JET3

JET3 was designed to enhance compact scrubbing with the added power of onboard chemical injection. Built on the foundation of the M3, it allowed operators to apply detergent directly while cleaning, improving efficiency and effectiveness. JET3 was created for users who needed a lightweight, portable solution with extra cleaning power for tackling tough dirt in confined or detailed areas.

2023 | SHOCK

SHOCK was designed to deliver high-performance scrubbing in challenging environments where deep cleaning was essential. Using powerful oscillation technology, it targeted stubborn, ground-in dirt with speed and precision. Compact yet aggressive, SHOCK addressed the need for a robust cleaning solution in confined or hard-to-reach areas, where traditional machines lacked the intensity or manoeuvrability to get the job done.

2024 | DRYFT

DRYFT was designed as an ultra-compact scrubber dryer, capable of cleaning and drying in a single pass. Featuring innovative S-Motion technology, it mimicked the natural movement of manual cleaning while delivering consistent mechanical performance. DRYFT addressed the need for a lightweight, manoeuvrable solution that could access tight spaces and provide professional results in hygiene-critical, congested environments where traditional machines struggled.
